Yesterday I was invited to an after-office gathering. The event was organised to celebrate the PhD graduation of some students coming from the World Maritime University (WMU). The reception was pretty simple, although it was just beside the River Thames. There were some intern colleagues, some members of the Japanese delegation to the IMO, and a couple of ex-seafarers from around the world.
